Asking Questions to Get to the Answer

YOU ARE GOING TO SOLVE 2 MORE MYSTERIES TODAY

TASK 1: Listen for clues.
A young boy named John lived on a farm...  Figure out why John’s family would leave their beautiful farm for a difficult life in this flat dry prairie.

PROCESS
    1.  Set timer for 5 minutes.
    2.  Students ask questions that must be answerable with only a
         yes or a no. No open-ended questions allowed.
    3.  Pause timer after 2:30 and briefly discuss what students have
         learned and what they still must discover.
    4.  Start timer for another round of questioning.
    5.  Present Arguments.

TASK 2: Look for clues. 
          A.  Where was the following photograph was taken?
          B.  When was it taken?
          C.  What took place in the photo?

Process: 
      1.  View each part of the photo and gather clues. 
      2.  Add to your argument for the 3 questions.
