Goal: Believe that students can make history.

SOLVE THE MYSTERY OF THE H.L. HUNLEY.

PREPARE: Do you believe that it is possible to make history in our classroom?

DESCRIBE:
     On the evening of February 17, 1864, the H. L. Hunley became the world's first successful combat submarine by sinking the USS Housatonic. After signaling to shore that the mission had been accomplished, the submarine and her crew of eight vanished. It was discovered in 2001. Today's mystery lies in what was found on the submarine.
